Where should is it nicer to stay? Destin FL, or Panama City Beach, FL?
I’m going on a 4 day vacation with my girlfriend. We will be visiting Florida for the first time and have decided to visit Destin and Panama City Beach. But where is it nicer to stay?? Which has the nicer beach? Night life? Walking on the beach watching the sunset? Overall, where should we have our hotel for the 4 days? Destin or Panama City Beach?
Both places have some of Florida’s best beaches with large expanses of soft white sand and the warmer Gulf water.
Both areas have their nice resorts as well as low budget tourist locations.
Panama City Beach has more “spring break” type bars and caters to the college kids. Destin seems a little nicer and more family oriented.
In Panama City Beach I have stayed at Edgewater Resort. In Destin, I have stayed at the San Destin Resort. Both places were very nice, but be sure to get a unit on the beach side of their resort (both are rather large facilities) so you are close to the water.
Both of the above are on the higher end of the cost scale, but I was pleased with the accommodations.
If you go Panama City Beach, be sure to stop at Schooner’s on the beach. Fresh grouper sandwich, a cold beer and a great sunset…the best!
